Meezan Bank

I went to this branch to open an account with my father (who has been a Meezan Bank customer since the inception of the bank in Karachi; longer than the service of most employees at this branch). The branch proved to be very sluggish and bureaucratic unfortunately. They sat on our account application for a week only to tell us that my father's name in his Blue Area account did not fully match his name in the new account application. My father had a long name, so NADRA asked him to drop one of the middle names years ago. This middle name no longer appears in his NIC, but it appears in his two-decade old account with the Blue Area Branch. The Operations Manager of the F-10 markaz branch (a woman seen walking in her flipflops at the branch) wanted my father to have his name fixed at the Blue Area Branch before they would process our application for new account at the F-10 markaz branch. My father called, then visited the Blue Area branch to ask them to remove the middle name from the title of the longstanding account. They said they couldn't easily modify the account title, but that this should not be a hurdle to opening a new account at the F-10 branch. The fellow from the Blue Area branch called the ‘madam’ at the F-10 branch and tried to persuade her to send in the application for approval. She didn't agree. She came up with the most amazing idea: that we close the two-decade-old joint account (with one of the account holders living in Lahore) and reopen it. Wow! She was expecting us to close and reopen a 2-decade-old account that had been working perfectly well for us – just so she could have the pleasure of freeing Meezan's database of another tiny discrepancy. The integrity of the bank's database proved to be the priority. The new account and the client could wait. Thumbs up! At this point, I asked them to not process my account application and went to another bank – I wish I had done that in the first place. The staff at the other bank helped us open an account fast and allowed my father to collect the debit card and cheque book in my absence. The folks at Meezan Bank wasted a full week of my precious time and almost killed the chances of opening an account with another bank/branch on my trip to Pakistan.

Excellent and responsive banking. Best online experience. ATM of F-10 branch is always available. The staff at the branch is courteous and polite. Its been more than 10 years of relationship with the bank and going well.

Excellent service by the staff. Branch have more then 3 counters and you will be served in couple of minutes.

Very bad experience. Always ria link down. Its been 10 days inka link abi tak down hy. In f10 branch they even don't pik the call .
