National Bank of Pakistan is 75% owned by State Bank of Pakistan. It is the bank that handles all government of Pakistan receipts and payments. Has total of 1511 branches. Work force although not civil servants technically but certainly mirror them in work ethic and attitudes. It ha a large retail operations but I can't imagine anyone wanting to bank here. Buildings, furnishings, technology and pace and process all are dilapidated. Was recently 55 million US$ for non-compliance with funds transfer and record keeping by US Reserve bank. This institution should have been privatized or sold off long ago. If GOP pulled out all her funds and accounts it would have closed long ago. Vested interest and dereliction of duty by the institutions that control the Bank won't do the right thing.
The staff of NBP Civic Center is cooperative. BM is busy person but operation manager is kind and helpful as he is young and energetic.
