National Bank of Pakistan Aabpara Chauk demands bribe for opening a checking account? I am a retired Major from Pakistan, Army, living in USA, who has not drawn his pension for past several years. To claim my pension I need an account in National Bank of Pakistan, as per advice from Pakistan Embassy, DC, USA. I came to Pakistan on Sept 21st and on 22nd went National Bank of Pakistan Abpara Chauk-, Islamabad . (Pic Attached) today it is 28th of Sept and I have not been able to open a checking account. My account opening person is Zulfiqar Ali OG III. I have spoken to the manager, and he gave me the same run around. Every time I leave the bank disappointed a civilian approaches me and advises me to pay $1000.00 a bribe or else the account will never open. Frustrated, I went to Habib Bank, and the account was opened in 20 minutes. Mr. Saeed Ahmad CEO I have read your resume on the internet including your wonderful activities in Saudi Arabia. You have lived abroad and you know the standards – Should it take 8 days to open a checking account? While an X-army officer is being asked to pay bribe for opening an account? Shame on you! You should resign from the post or bring your bank to other banks standard. An Appeal to Government of Pakistan? Why have you given the monopoly rights to National Bank who are the most dishonest and least efficient?

Worst experience ever Being a bank, in such a weather they need to have air conditioning but surprisingly I cud only see one working in managers office The employees tend to work on a very slow pace Mine token number is 101 and now 021 is being served since last 15mins They need to compete with the private sector and someone needs to make some drastic changes in over all behaviour
