After the abrupt departure of Mr. Pascal from the BP branch in Le Chesnay, who was an honest and attentive person, we were transferred to the BP branch in Bougival, followed by Alexia Legros, to whom it is impossible to send an email (she's on leave and her messages haven't been checked since June 7, 2025). What can I say... absolutely no responsiveness, the branch never answers the phone. The lines are always busy. For a simple insurance statement, we were told to call BPCE Assurance directly. We were forced to call the BP branch in Saint-Cyr to obtain this document (thank you to Emma Reynoso-Avalos for her kindness and responsiveness). The telephone reception is never friendly; we always feel like we're bothering them, even though we're customers and it's their job! What about the banking service and customer relations? Everything is falling apart, and at Banque Populaire, it's high time they found solutions to rebuild a genuine relationship with their customers (whoever they may be)
Extremely expensive bank, €10.50 per month (for a basic account and card) for which no one ever answers the phone. I paid a cancellation fee even though I already pay for payment method insurance (which was refunded after I finally got someone on the phone, but will be charged again in a year). A checkbook was sent and apparently lost even though I hadn't requested it... in short, no added value and far too many hidden fees.
Remember to read your clients' emails, especially those in urgent situations... I never had this problem with my previous advisors, including Michel Ferreira, who always responded, particularly in emergencies. As a result, I'm stuck trying to increase my spending limit to buy the equipment I need for my work. This makes me want to leave your bank sooner than planned... I'm extremely dissatisfied; this is unacceptable. I will gladly change this rating if you improve on the level of service I expect from banking professionals. Edit 06/06/2024: I'm adding a star following a call from the complaints department, which escalated the issue. My advisor also called me and resolved the situation, admittedly a week later, but the apologies are there, so it definitely deserves a second star. Edit 8/06/2024: The branch manager contacted me the day before to reiterate his apologies and offer a goodwill gesture, refunding me three months of membership fees. I can only commend this effort. First, I want to clarify that my review only concerns this branch and not the bank as a whole. As a customer since 2014, things were going very well with the previous team (the manager, Maxime at reception, Michel, and Laurent). Three years ago, the entire team was replaced, including a new manager. Thanks to him, I switched banks! Don't expect to get a response to an email before the third follow-up and a month's delay. Don't ask him anything; he doesn't handle customer requests (requests to not renew a card, cancel services, cancel legal protection, or get a refund for credit application fees charged twice). In the end, all your requests go unanswered, but the fees are still wrongly collected. And good luck getting a refund... I could tell you many more stories... Hello, I strongly advise against Banque Populaire. They don't respect their contract, any agency included. I've had a flexible mortgage since 2014. A few months ago, I wanted to suspend or postpone a payment schedule, as stipulated in my contract. (5 times on the entire loan) I was overdrawn. They have a solution to recover it, but they never wanted to. I made multiple reminders, and the customer relations department is also not competent. The only thing they offered me was a consumer loan. A dispute that lasted several months with a branch manager who doesn't speak properly to her customers at all. The worst thing was when talking with my neighbor, who also has a flexible mortgage. At another branch (Achères) in the same situation, they never wanted to. They offered the same thing, as if it's their policy. I want to clarify before that. I never had any particular problems with them.
