Published minimum income requirements in our India data include Net monthly income above Rs 2.5 lakh for salaried applicants; Net monthly income above Rs 1,00,000 (government) or Rs 1,50,000 (non-government) for salaried applicants; Net monthly income above Rs 35,000 for salaried applicants; Net monthly income above Rs 20,000 for salaried applicants. Banks also look at your existing monthly commitments, not just gross salary.

What is the minimum age to borrow in India?

Do I need to transfer my salary to get a card or loan in India?

Not always — 120 of the 162 cards we track in India state that a salary transfer is not required. Transferring your salary to the lender often gets you a better rate anyway.
