Don't know why there are so many bad reviews on this branch. My experience was amazing. Thanks to the kindest receptionist and Morgan for helping me opening a bank account with Westpac. It's cool to see hard working and nice people everywhere!
I had a great expeirience today. We want to change a usd to nzd. We went to couple of banks but they did not do it even I have ac account with them. But one of lady from other bank suggested us to go Westpac. However we didnt have an account. My wife only have kiwisaver account with Westpac. The lady helped us out to make user id and bank account plus debit card as well for my wife. She had gorgeous smile and sense of humors. She totlay convinced us to use Westpac as a main bank for two of us. She didn't say anything about it but the customer service experience what we received was so fascinating. Thanks Anya you just made our day.
Useless on weekends. At least be specific on your websites if what each branch can do on weekends for customers to avoid wasting their time. No point opening if you have limited services. You’re lucky to have one star.
Their new location on Rotheram Street is very prison like. It's not an improvement in atmosphere compared to when they were located near PaknSave. The teller who served me was very helpful and kind, I was looking at the appstore while waiting and she helped confirm which was the right one for NZ customers. A few process improvements to note with Westpac's website and their new customer process - their RealMe link doesn't work, it gives an error message - their sign up process online is incomplete, you need to go to a branch and bring photo ID and proof of address, which defeats the whole point in signing up online. When I went to the branch, I was advised they need to create a new customer and they asked for my mobile number and email which I had provided during the online sign up process as well. It seems like there is double handling in signing up new customers. I asked for an eftpos card while I was there to avoid having to return to a branch and was told that I would need to wait
Poor service by Westpac today. Went to deposit cash from sale of my son's truck over counter as did not want to process that amount of money through a machine. Was told they do not do that at the weekend and pointed at the machine and told me to do it there. Her tone was not very friendly when she offered to go over to the machine with me and I declined because I felt she was a bit rude, and I had already stated I did not want to put it in a machine. The most shocking part was when she told me that even if I went to the bank mid-week, they would not be able to do it over the counter anyway because I could not pay money into an account that was not mine. Even though she was right there, my only option with Westpac was use a machine to make a deposit. I told her I would go to my bank to put it in my own account and felt Westpac was pathetic.
