Standing at window - no teller, no ATM?

After submitting the loan application online, the bank's offer arrived quite quickly. Since I still had some questions, I contacted Mr. Meyer by phone. During the very friendly conversation, I received a revised offer and everything was explained to me in detail. I submitted the required documents via several emails, which was also no problem for Mr. Meyer. The review process was completed just as quickly as the approval.

Mr. David May from ABK Bank is a highly competent loan officer. Customer service was excellent, and the application and all related matters were handled quickly and reliably. I would apply for a loan at this bank again without hesitation. Mr. May and his colleagues remained consistently friendly and clearly know their craft.

This bank is not satisfactory. Contacting them is virtually impossible. I wanted to change my bank details – no chance of reaching anyone. I was on hold for over two hours on the phone. Absolutely outrageous. Once my loan is paid off, I will NEVER have anything to do with this bank again.

I've had a savings account here for over 20 years. For several years now, it's been earning 0.0% interest. Of course, I could close the account, but there's very little money in it anyway. And since this is the only branch in Berlin, which is difficult for me to reach after moving here from Rankestraße, it's a welcome incentive for me not to squander this money. The staff are friendly and helpful, but I probably wouldn't open another savings account here.
