After reading all the 1 star reviews I’ve decided to not open a checking account with wf. They keep sending me offers of $400 to open an account with them, but I’ve decided I don’t want to take the chance on a horrific experience. Now to try and get off of their mailing list.
My visit to this branch was incredibly frustrating. I needed to close an account after being notified that, after five years, I would incur a $15 monthly fee unless I maintained a certain balance or had direct deposit. This account is shared with my elderly mother, and since I live over an hour away, I decided to stop by this location instead of the West branch. Upon arrival, I found only one banker available. I approached the service manager, who was just standing nearby, and asked if I could see the banker to close the account. Instead, I was told to wait in the teller line to check in. After watching ten people go ahead of me with only two tellers working—while the service manager simply stood over one of them—I finally reached the front. When it was my turn, the service manager casually shrugged and said that the banker’s appointment had just arrived and that I would have to wait again. She offered to put me on a waiting list, which could take one to two hours. As a former banker
Terribly mismanaged. I had an appointment and had to wait through the line. The manager started asking people at the back of the line what they were there for and helping them out the door. I stood there waiting 30 minutes past my appointment time and was told to wait longer as the manager was now helping people who had no appointment. He finally checked on me and tried to lecture about being 10 minutes late when it took him that triple that time to even realize I was in the door at all.
You need an appointment. You can call and wait on hold for long period, or naviagate website to try and find how to make an appointment. Don't walk in. Customer service in banks not what it used to be. Gives the impression they do all they can to keep public out of office.
I would have given 5 stars because the staff at this location are sweet and friendly. We just moved here from Texas and it’s disappointing that there are only two Wells Fargo locations in the Wichita area! However, we have had good experiences every time we’ve been in there. I AM HOWEVER taking a star away because today, during my visit, I was very disappointed with their ability to prioritize customer service. There was an increasingly large line of customers waiting to be helped by the tellers. I watched as one, out of the three that were there assisting those in line, finished up with the customer she was helping and proceeded to put the sign up stating that, her window was closed. She then, turned to the other teller and said “hey I’m going to lunch.” Mind you, I understand that everyone deserves a break, lunch, etc…. BUT!!!! Where is the desire to do the best job you can do?? And if you’re not someone who actually enjoys interacting with the public, then why even show up??
