I tried to open a business savings account. Each time I received this error (see image), so I went to another bank and the application happened in minutes. It's all well and good providing an error but with something vague like 'try again later', we simply won't.
Opened a fixed rate ISA account with them , it was a breeze to setup and very much plane sailing , had no problems funding the account, and I was emailed very quickly regarding any queries 👍
Please read this review for an honest review of shawbrook bank and my experience. Recently my mother passed away and had the misfortune to loan money from this bank. Wanting to repay the loan I was asked to send them the original will and the death certificate. Reluctantly, I sent them off and, in my error, didn’t send them recorded delivery. I spent the following 3 weeks ringing every day for updates and told there was nothing. On offering to pay the debt I was told I couldn’t get a settlement figure until they received the documents, so I offered to overpay and then collect the excess at a further time, to be told the overpaid money may not get back to me as it was in my mums name. Getting worried the original will was missing, 4 weeks from being told I had no option but to send the original documents, I was told they didn’t have to be original and not even that, I could email them! I emailed them immediately and 2 days later was told I had permissions to talk about the account. Offe
Dear Shawbrook Bank Ltd. Please tell me why after clearing my account on 15th April 2020 by paying £1330.46 using my debit card and then as directed by your operative to cancel my direct debit are you asking my to pay a further £266.84. I have a letter in front of me saying I have settled the outstanding balance. Today you send a threatening letter demanding payment because my direct debit is no longer live. Speaking to your representative Chris by phone today, he tells me my account is cleared and that a complaint ticket will be raised and that your company has 28 days to respond. I offered to pay the alleged non payment of £266.84 and the £15 admin fee by debit card whilst speaking to your operative, who advised against this as my account was settled. Meanwhile, your company places a “non payment” mark on my credit record, I have never missed a payment on any credit, never mind to Shawbrook Bank Ltd and as I am currently arranging a mortgage, if I am declined because of this error o
Shawbrook Bank customer service has been very helpful, polite and professional. I have never had a problem Saving with Shawbrook, so much so that I have re invested into another Fixed rate Bond which has the best % rate on the market. The only reason I have given them a 4* is that there is no phone line service at the weekends but you can email.
