Only bank that makes you come in to send wires. They are routinely incorrectly staffed to do basic transactions. They will have three bankers but no senior teller so you can't make cash deposits or they will have several tellers and no banker and gaslight you asking if you made an appointment when they are supposed to be staffed for routine transactions during business hours. They routinely change due diligence rules so employees are refused when trying to make a deposit forcing them to walk through faneuil hall with cash. Do yourself a favor and bank somewhere else.
My experience here was just fine. My banker was Sean, and he was awesome. Realistically, this place is in downtown Boston, so of course, it's going to be the most critiqued. My service went well in my opinion, but I adjusted my attitude at the door and used proper communication. The staff had a good read on me, and they delivered accordingly and were very helpful. A young lady even referred me to a few nice places to shop. Needless to say, I was serviced well.
Let me start with the good, then I'll give input on the areas Santander really needs to work on ASAP. I financed my car through Santander and hardly knew who this bank was before I chose them. They gave me the best interest rate. I also love the fact that when ever I call I'm never on hold for more than a minute. But this is where things go bad. In 2021 there is no reason a financial institution of this magnitude does not have an app. Just a simple app would help them run things so much smoother. Also anything I need to do over the phone, they can't do over the phone. I needed to make a payment after I was locked out because for starters when I was in the website would accept my card that I already previously used. Then I forgot my online password and this happened after hours. And when I decided to call, the website basically briefed me that everything I would need help with the agent wouldn't be able to help me. Also Auto pay is a complete hassle to set up. Avoid this bank. I had a recent fraud committed against me, not Santander Bank. They have blocked my account. It is going on four weeks now. This bank is totally inept. Can you imagine having your account frozen through the holiday season? This is an egregious breach of bank/customer trust. Run, run, run. Avoid them !
Had this bank for probably 15 or so years only because they bought out the bank I was doing. At first wasn't bad, but they so inept now. And it went down hill after supporting the Rainbow Mob and donates to the etc. Gawd awful trying to close my accounts and can't even do that because the people there so horrible.
