My mum is trying to move her ISA to another provider as Virgin are only paying her a shocking 1% interest. The automated transfer via Hargreaves Lansdown failed as Virgin say she doesn't have a cash ISA. She does. And according to staff in this branch she will have to pay tax on the withdrawal/it will alter her tax code. Utter nonsense! Assuming the inexperienced staff was referring to the £20k annual tax allowance, I explained that she hadn't used this years, so the manual withdrawal and deposit would use that and next year's. Because the staff member confused my mum, she asked them to speak to me. They've refused to close the ISA and want me to go in and speak to them!? Why. What legal authority do I have to speak to them on my mother's behalf? This is shocking at every point. Reading a few other posts on here, seems when I go in I'll be made to feel like a criminal. It's Virgin who are criminal paying only 1%, when she can get 4% elsewhere. If they paid the going rate she wouldn't h

Been into the wakefield branch the last 2 days. I saw Louise who I saw both days due to being scammed. Such a professional young lady, very helpful and calming . Helped with contacting fraud department. Would recommend Louise to anyone. Thankyou again xx

Called in as having issues trying to transfer a decent amount of money into a new virgin account. Woman on reception was patronising and really quite rude so I will be closing my account again.

Slow service and speaks to elderly people like a robot and make them feel like they dont know anything. After going in with a grandparent they treat you like your there to steal off them and that you are just some random person off the streets. I was served by Stacey and wont return to this branch again.
