I was asked to open an account with this bank by the university I am teaching at. Staff were extremely rude and unfriendly, treating more like a criminal than a potential customer.They made it very clear they did not want me as a customer, and It was only when I returned with a copy of my teaching contract that they very reluctantly allowed me to open an account. If you have any choice in the matter, I strongly advise you to choose another bank.

I recently visited the Zhongzheng branch and encountered a rather unfriendly branch manager. A female manager surnamed Qiu stood at the counter processing transactions, and when she came out to greet customers, she had a very sour face and didn't greet them at all. Previously, when I visited this branch, two other managers, surnamed Lin and Shen, would look up, greet me warmly, and politely ask me to wait a moment. The tellers were also very friendly. I assumed that this was the standard attitude at this branch, but Manager Qiu's attitude left me very disappointed with the service.
On the evening of November 13, 2014, my card was suspended from withdrawals at around 6 PM! Because I am a CTBC customer. My card was lost and I borrowed my roommate's salary to use the debit card! On the first withdrawal that day, withdrawals were suspended! I asked my roommate to call me at noon on November 14! Unexpectedly, the customer service representative immediately changed their mind and said that I had to go in person! First of all, if I had to go in person, I would have told them on the 13th and not waste my lunch break. Secondly, it is complicated for foreigners to take leave! (2) If I withdraw money twice on the same day or the remitter is a warning account, we are speechless. (3) On the evening of the 13th, the customer service representative of Taoyuan Central Bank was in a bad attitude because it was almost time to leave work and did not call me truthfully at 12 noon.
The terrible process and the awful experience made me run around three times before they finally wouldn't let me complete the process! If they couldn't do it, they should have told me from the beginning! 🤬🤬🤬 Don't other people's time matter?!
