I made an appointment on Friday to go in on Monday to open an account and the lady on the phone was really nice in helping me over the phone since the call got routed to the call center instead of the office I was calling. She advised me you’re supposed to make an appointment via the online system. I told her I couldn’t find anywhere to make an appointment on their website so she sent a link to my phone. However, it wouldn’t translate to English so I couldn’t comprehend most of it to be able to make an appointment so she made the appointment over the phone for me. She told me someone would call me later on the day to go over the docs I would need to bring with me and I actually got 2 calls that afternoon and that evening to go over what I need to bring with me. Mr. Chen at the branch helped me open my account and answered all my questions. He was really nice and patient. He even switched to English when I couldn’t understand certain words or phrases. Fubon Bank's Boai branch in Taipei is a bank I frequent. I haven't been to a physical branch for a long time because of the prevalence of financial fraud. Therefore, the bank staff are extremely meticulous, double-checking everything before opening an account. I went to handle account matters on August 9th, and today, August 19th, I went to pick up my passbook. Because of the long wait, they found out I brought the wrong seal. They were a little apologetic, but promised to let me know if I went directly. I'm very grateful to that staff member. In response to the aging society, this is the first time I've seen a dedicated senior citizen counter with a sign, a senior citizen area at the counter, and even security personnel who are elderly.
