As many others have written before me the service here is very bad, and the staff is mis-informed. They flat-out refused to provide me with any sort of bank account despite EU law dictating that they are legally obliged to offer a basic one. They kept my application form and sent a physical letter after the maximum wait time (2 weeks) to ask for the same information (an ID with personnummer) in order to proceed. They should frankly be getting fined by the European Union for this.
Right now, I have been waiting for over an hour just to report a wrong transaction, and my position in the queue has only decreased from 29 to 11. The operator keeps repeating that there are many people in the queue. I want to say, if you were doing your job properly, how could there be such a long queue in the first place? Interestingly, they keep suggesting that I can handle my errands online or through chat, but the chat system provides too much unnecessary information in Swedish, and in the end, I still have to contact them. There are also several other contact numbers, but none of them have been responsive since this morning. Always very band experience with Swebank
Have recently moved to Sweden in Sep 2023 and I have visited them for Opening a bank account with Swedbank to make sure that I get my salary from my employer. They have told me they will not entertain any customers to do walkins for this purpose. Though I have all documents for creating the account, the nearest appointment that I have received was in Dec 2023 which was 2 months away. I do not think I will ever wait for the appointment date and miss my salaries for next two months. There was not even one customer in the morning hours in this bank still they do not allow walkins and care about of their future customers. If you are going there for the above purpose, I better suggest not to do and waste your valuable time. Looks for other options like Online documentation submissions like SEB or something else.
Discrimination at its finest. Because of our work contract, we tried to open a bank account here. Although every document was ready, front desk asked us to get an asylum seeker document (!) and refused to get our work not even to bank staff. Are you serious? We are not even asylum seeker. Because they are the only branch of this bank in Uppsala, we had to go with the same documents to Stockholm branch. Just smh.
Easily the WORST experience i have ever had at a bank! stood in line for 2 hours, was told to activate bank ID they would need to cancel my bank card but i could order a new one on the app, ok cool. turns out you cant. you must order in person in the bank... where i just was. or wait an hour and a half on the phone. Even better, you dont need to cancel my card in the first place. Thanks Swedbank Uppsala!
