I am a foreigner in Japan and I do not recommend visiting this bank. I made a reservation to open a bank account and filled out the necessary documents with a female officer (tantosha). She informed me that my office number was not working, and after a while, a male officer came to tell me that they couldn't create a bank account for me. When I asked for the reason, they didn't provide an explanation. I showed them my company contract, but they refused to even look at it. Overall, my visit to this bank was a complete waste of time.
I went there on August 27, 2025 because I wanted to ask something. The attitude of the elderly woman at the reception desk was unbelievable. She seemed to hate her job and lied to customers to get them to leave early. As expected, I was led to the counter and the information she gave me was completely different from what she said. I didn't trust her from the start, but the receptionist was great at her job, and I bet she didn't know anything!!!!
The bank staff's attitude was not good. After opening, one of the ATMs was out of order, so several people were waiting in line. Two employees, a man and a woman, were chatting away. I thought they might as well say something to the people in line if they had the time, so I warned them. However, they showed no sign of correcting their behavior, instead calling out, "A machine is free," and urging me to leave as quickly as possible. This is not something to be admired.
I've been using this bank for a long time, but this was the first time I thought this. At the ATM, two men in suits were operating one machine, but one of them had taken a step back so he could look around. There were three machines, but he was almost directly behind the man operating it, so he could easily peek at the other machines. I don't know if he was actually peeking, but he was there for quite a while (two people were changing at the other machines), so I wonder why none of the bank employees said anything. He just stood in the middle the whole time, greeting people entering and leaving with "Welcome" and "Thank you"... I thought that was a little weird.
When I said I wanted to do four quick transfers at the counter, they insisted I transfer them all together, as if to say it was too much of a hassle, even though there were no other customers waiting. If it's too much of a hassle, why don't they just stop the service altogether? I want to change banks.
