Islami Bank is located in Dilkusha, Motijheel, Dhaka. This bank was acquired by the government from Jamaat-e-Islami. This bank used to provide finance or employment to Jamaat workers for a long time. Even after the Awami League-led government acquired it, the bank remained profitable. However, its final decline occurred after the Shah Alam mafia family took over it. The incident of withdrawing Tk 30,000 crore from this bank in the dreaded November was widely criticized at home and abroad.
