ING Bank 9 Houtplein Haarlem

After the refurb , the place looks great! Doesn’t feel like a bank and feels more like your living room. I’ve had to open an account and the staff were very friendly!

So bad, the website is terrible, the app is not user friendly especially not if you don’t speak any Dutch. The bank is very old fashioned, investing is made highly complicated for expats, they recommended me to go and look for another company when I wanted to invest with them. Super bureaucratic when loosing passwords, my cards frequently stop working and I am so tired of ordering new ones that I use my German N26 card which works everywhere in the world.

TLDR - prepare going to this place multiple times to resolve your question and avoid ING in general. They have amazing renovation inside but unfortunately it doesn’t help their service - they can’t resolve an issue with my account for two months already and they are asking me to come to this place for the fourth time already and every time they ask for new forms and don’t really understand what is going on. Today Joop was trying to help me but unfortunately his experience doesn’t allow him to resolve the issue, they are saying that “15 min appointment is not enough for this matter”, but it’s not me who booked only 15 minutes lol 🤷‍♂️

My card stopped working, but it was supposed to be valid for 2 years more. I went inside and guy with short, curly and ginger hairs who's name I unfortunately don't remember didn't even try to check ANYTHING he just decided (based on ceiling I guess, because that was what he was looking at atm) that I just must order new one (and pay 4,5 euro...). He have probly magic hands because I would have to go to pc probly and check what's going on but well... I ordered new one. Next day I went to the same place (damn is he working there everyday I am srsly unlucky) and asked to cash out some money. Guy knew the solution from the very begining. It could take 3 min but he enjoyed me asking if he can do something maybe have some way around or some system there is... Noooo he enjoyed the show....
