I have to say the service and staff are quite good. Do not be scared by the low score on Google comments and go there directly. I am not a German speaker, and I went to open my bank account. The staffs communicated well with me in English and are great helpful. The staff from the reception desk took me to the waiting sofa and reminded me that they would call „dreiundsiebzig“ (No. 73), which is my turn. 🥸I wonder why the bank is low-rated in Google? Then I realized that people who had good experiences are usually not come to comment, but the complaints will.

As soon as I arrived to Germany the first bank I tried was Commerzbank in Königstraße. I opened an account here. But then I wasn’t receiving any letters. For one month I visited the branch almost everyday! I didn’t even receive my debit card. I filed a complaint about it. But each time I go, their response was poor. They would just ask me to wait. But how long could I wait! After almost 2 months of visiting the bank and not receiving any letters about online banking or debit cards I finally gave up. Now after 7 months when I finally got time and decided to fix the account, I learnt that my account is deactivated and I should try another bank. I recommend people not to use Commerzbank especially Königstraße branch!

I can’t share a personal experience as I was considering opening an account with this bank, but after reading multiple reviews with similar concerns and seeing the low overall rating, I decided against it. I assumed these comments were well-founded since there were so many of them. I was also worried that, as a foreigner, I might be received negatively by the staff, as several other commenters had described. I would suggest that the management put more focus on improving customer communication and fostering a more supportive and positive atmosphere for the staff, as this could also encourage better performance and motivation. There are certainly others like me who might then reconsider their decision. I still wish the team all the best.

I have been visiting 6th time with same issue not sorted yet to add on he said we are not discussing this topic anymore. When I mentioned i came 6 times and spent atlest an hour every time. It doesn't make any sense. Unacceptable answer as a customer.

Wow, after waiting so long for other banks after arriving to Stuttgart, I didn't think CommerzBank would make it super convenient and easy for me to get the process done. From the reception, to emails to paperwork to the beautiful building to the amazing staff, everything went by so smoothly..!
