Very good customer service. Despite my poor Spanish language they assisted with my enquiry well.
I live in San Sebastián and I usually go to my Bankinter branch, but on Tuesday, December 9th, I had some errands to run in Bilbao, and while I was passing by this branch, I decided to deposit a check I had outstanding. Before depositing it, I clearly asked the teller if they charged a fee, explaining that I was asking because my San Sebastián branch doesn't charge, and if they did, I'd rather wait until the next day and deposit it at my usual branch. She said something like, "Well, I don't know, I'll have to check. It'll show me on the screen whether there's a fee or not." She kept typing, flipping the paper up and down, and since I got the impression she was processing the deposit, I asked her again if there was a fee. She repeated that she didn't know, that it would show up in a moment. Finally, she finished, told me it was deposited, and I insisted on knowing if there was a fee. Then she said, "Well, it's not much, it's a small fee." I told her I didn't care if it was a small or la
I was with Evo Banco and they transferred me to Bankinter, the worst in terms of apps and online banking. They charge you for everything, even breathing, even ATM withdrawals. I'm going to close my account in the European Union. You never finish paying and they charge you for breathing. They haven't learned anything from Evo, a bank whose ATMs are so out of order you can't even make deposits. It's a bank that nobody would recognize. I don't think they have a future as a digital bank. There are other banks, like N26, Revolut, and many more, that are perfect.
I was with EVO and my account was transferred to Bankinter. They made credit card charges that weren't refunded, and I even received calls from debt collection demanding payment (there was money in the account). They told me to add money to the card (the interface on my iPhone 12 won't let me do that). I called, and they said I still owe money, but my account balance still shows zero. It's one of the worst banking experiences I've ever had. I'll close my account as soon as it's resolved.
I've been trying to close a deceased relative's account for over a month now, and it's impossible. They don't answer the phone, and when they do, they say they'll call me back and let me know something, but they never do.
