I have had an incredibly frustrating experience with ABSA, both on business and personal banking. There is no proper assistance, poor communication, and no accountability. I do not receive emails regarding issues or plan changes, and my business banker cannot clearly explain my account, charges, or plan benefits. I am on a R399 business banking plan and mostly receive EFT payments. I swipe once or twice a month at most, yet I was charged nearly R1500 in bank fees last month. To date, no one has been able to explain these charges. Today, I was blocked from transferring money between my own accounts due to “suspicious activity,” despite logging in from the same phone I have used for over a year. Earlier that day, I successfully verified transactions via in-app prompts and SMS. When attempting to verify my identity again, an agent tried sending OTPs to a phone number that has never belonged to me. I Opened an Account with ABSA Bank at the tableview branch on the 2nd of January. And waited almost 2 weeks before I could use the account. I had to go into the bank 3 times. Now it's the 3rd of Fubruary and they still have not given me a card for this account and the consultant was very a nice person but absolutely unhelpful and seemed to be clueless about what was actually going on. He couldn't give me a straight answer on anything. I just want my card and to able to actually get use of the account. Is that too much to ask. DISGUSTING SERVICE.

I recently approached the ABSA Table View branch with a problem that involved an international payment problem. I was referred to Consultant Sales, Mr. Themba Brian Ndlovu. My problem was resolved in quick time between Mr. Ndlovu and the International Consultant. I have been with the bank since 1968 and have not seen such an example of efficiency and good conduct. I was most impressed with Mr. Ndlovu's grasp of the situation, his knowledge of the subjects in hand and the efficacy in solving the problems presented. Above all Mr. Ndlovu's sincere manner, politeness and friendliness left a impression that will always bring me back to ABSA bank in the future. I have been banking with absa for years and am generally happy with the service. I however don’t understand why I have a business banker. I emailed Zolani Menye on 2 October with a query. He replied immediately to say he will investigate. On 10 October I emailed again asking for feedback. No reply . On 22 I emailed again and still no reply. This is extremely bad service for one small query . When does he intend sorting out this query?
