Went into the branch today. Was greeted by banking staff chewing gum who simply shout ‘alright’ as you walk in. All of them on their phones shouting answers to questions across the branch, it was clearly the last day for them to pass their mandatory tests. The manager (I assume, slightly older lady with broad Lancashire accent) sat at the front table on her phone and laptop when an older lady came in asking about an ISA. The manager showed such little interest I felt embarrassed; the customer even asked her at one point ‘are you listening’ . I waited for 40 mins to have a restriction lifted. I then got sat down outside a room and told to wait. 20 mins later nobody had come to be as they all laughed and joked around the branch saying things that wouldn’t be appropriate in the home. I asked what was going on to say they couldn’t do what they had first told me, but they hadn’t bothered to update me. I ended up leaving after 90 mins. I got there at 10am, it was Matthew I spoke to. Very helpful staff you walk in and a stunning coffee girl greets you but wait she works within the bank very good at coffee drinks 😁overall it is a relaxed place more laid back set up than a normal bank 👏

friendly , pleasant helpful staff , nothing too much trouble . enquiry and transaction handled extremely efficiently and was able to charge my phone and have a complimentary coffee. great way to do financial business even if it was only enough to make sure my council tax is paid . everyone will get treated the same

Friendly, helpful, proactive and engaging. I own many businesses and many branches hate the administration of thousands of cheques each week. These guys not only take them without looking disgruntled and annoyed but they seem to value and enjoy the workload. The store manager has set the culture and given out training to a high standard and my director Jack can’t praise this store enough. Bravo to you, keep it up, virgins best branch in the north.
