Chase Bank 156 2nd Avenue Manhattan

Never thought I would be writing a review for a Chase Bank branch, but the wonderful people working here deserve some recognition. The staff is extremely courteous, competent, and efficient. Truly a paragon of customer service. I wish all Chase branches were like this!

This branch might as well close because it's been useless. It's post Covid, and this branch still operates on appointment basis even in the least busiest time of day. NYC deserves better.

Ever since they instituted the appt system it’s been a nightmare to try to sort out business matters. I miss the day when you could come in and just wait to see someone. Now you have to plan days ahead and their appt are never convenient. My schedule is unpredictable. I don’t know days ahead if I’ll have time at 3pm to go to the bank. Chase is just as frustrating as all the other banks. Just go wherever it’s closest to you. They all have problems.

This branch NEEDS to fix their card reader at the front door for people who use machines to bank after hours. Standing outside in the snow with a bunch of other customers trying to get in with our chip cards and it just doesn’t unlock, regardless of how you put the card in or even with RF reader. Apparently it works if you use a Citibank card…

Worst service ever.They closed my account without any explainstion and refused to give me the funds that cleared through the account when they promised that they would be absilable. The manager rdfused to give me last name snd said a check for 700.00+ would be mailed to me. Even the customer service rep apologised for the managers behavior and said that he would file a complaint. He said it happens all the time. This is the worst bank I have ever done business with ever. I hope the SEC CLOSES ghis Bank for fraudulant and illegal practices.
