I’ve had an outstanding experience with this bank. The staff is always professional, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile to help. The account setup process was smooth and hassle-free, and any questions I’ve had were answered clearly and promptly.
Their online and mobile banking services are user-friendly and reliable, making it easy to manage my finances anytime. I especially appreciate the transparency in fees and the variety of services offered.
Highly recommend this bank to anyone looking for trustworthy, efficient, and customer-focused service!
Anaar Panju was fantastic and had enough patience to talk me through and explain things to me. She has a good spirit. Smiled all through my appointment with her. I have been going to different settings and organization but Annar’s customer service is the best. Thank for your time and patience.
Isaac was very helpful, very confident he could resolve my issues and he did. Knowledgeable explained every stage to me and had everything correct. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience thank you.
I had an excellent experience at the Barclays Watford branch thanks to Anaar Panju. Anaar was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and patient throughout my visit, taking the time to clearly explain everything and ensure all my questions were answered.
What really stood out was Anaar’s friendly approach and genuine willingness to help — it made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Customer service like this is rare, and it truly reflects positively on the branch and Barclays as a whole.
I would highly recommend asking for Anaar if you’re visiting the Watford branch. Outstanding service from start to finish.
Tinu Thomas has been very helpful today. He sorted my whole profile and discussed future investment and insurance arrangements which I will begin thinking about. Very patient and very informative. I also sorted my original request of ISA very quickly. Thank you.
I visited the Barclays branch because I had an issue with my debit card that had not been resolved through online customer service. I hoped the branch could help or guide me further.
Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The front desk staff member, Kulwinder, was extremely rude . When I tried to explain my situation, she did not properly listen to my concerns and repeatedly told me to call the customer service number.
The issue was not just being asked to call customer service, but the way it was said. Her tone was very disrespectful and made me feel like she wanted to get rid of me rather than help. I felt unwelcome and that my concern was not taken seriously at all.
I expect better customer service from a bank branch, especially when a customer comes in for help after already trying other channels.

Total rubbish, completely useless, ATMs out of service more often than they are open!
And the same explanation is still there, that it is being repaired again and will work again soon.
15.10.25 UPDATE
I stand by my opinion and assessment; both ATMs are closed again today. The branch is open between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., so outside of these hours, there's no access to banking services, such as cash deposits. It's a disaster, just disaster.
Besides, I hope this branch isn't just there to provide employment for a few people, but to help Barclays Bank customers. And it's not in my best interest to drive from branch to branch across the neighborhood hoping to find a working ATM with a deposit option.
Absolutely the worst bank in UK.
And York branch represents it. The worst branch of any bank I've ever dealt with. Especially front staff (some of them).
I left many years ago , my wife is leaving them and friend of mine too.
You can't do anything. It's always no and some idiotic rules behind it.
Then when you think it's sorted...you finding out that it's not...
Leaving them is highly recommended.
How is it possible that in 2025, Barclays still only opens from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM? We’re long past the COVID restrictions, yet their hours feel stuck in the past. Most of us work until 5 or 6 PM — are we supposed to take a day off just to visit the bank?
At the very least, there should be one day a week with extended hours until 7 PM. It’s completely unreasonable that a major bank operates for only 5½ hours a day. This setup makes it nearly impossible for working people to get anything done in person. Honestly, it’s a joke.
Wouldn’t let me pay in a foreign cheque. Couldn’t be bothered exchanging it and letting me deposit it. Been with them for 30 years. Doesn’t mean anything to them.
