A HUGE, iconic square with a BIG difference. This square (also called Flower city Square) is not only the "HUB of New Guangzhou", but is also symbolic of the nature of China's industrial and commercial development. It covers about 140 acres [it is the sixth largest in the World]. It is free of motorised and bicycle traffic so as to make the "Park areas" more pedestrian friendly. In addition to many banks, the square houses the Opera House, Museum and Library... and the Canton Tower is nearby. What is most intriguing is that under the square are many shopping malls, restaurants etc. At night, the square is well/artistically lit.
