As of 2024, I was told that parking fees will be borne by the customer when making transactions at Resona Bank's Himeji branch. It was previously not possible to make transactions at group company Minato Bank, but from January 2025, it will be possible to share ATMs with Minato Bank. From now on, it will be more convenient to use ATMs with parking lots. In a separate incident, I was told that toilets will not be available at the Himeji branch, and that a convenience store will be used instead.
Maybe it can't be helped these days, but I found the lengthy questioning I went through to open an account extremely painful. Not only did I have to provide identification, but my photo was taken, I was asked detailed questions about the account's intended use by several people in turn, and I was asked why I didn't open an account at another bank... I think anyone going to open an account should be prepared to be uncomfortable. Also, it seems that a debit card is required to be attached to your cash card even if you don't need it. I didn't want one because they charge a fee if you don't use it. PS. No matter how many times I uncheck the box to turn off (unrelated) notification emails from the bank in the settings screen, I still receive them. It's really just too much of an annoyance.
I opened an account. The person in charge should have turned their body to the side while I was entering my PIN. Isn't that something they're taught? Recently, at Kinki Sangyo, Mizuho, and Sumitomo Mitsui, I had to enter my PIN in front of the person in charge, and they all turned their body to the side or behind me. I was worried after seeing the bad reviews, and it was indeed terrible. Even though they're bank employees, I think many people, like me, don't like having their PIN seen.
I was subjected to a lengthy, almost interrogative questioning session when opening my account. The staff member was also forcing a smile. I don't know anything about frequent account trading, but aren't they being overly suspicious? It's unpleasant.
I visited the bank to exchange 20,000 yen for new notes. I asked the floor concierge how to fill out an exchange request form and exchange it for new notes. He told me to circle the box and hand it in. I did as instructed, waited, and when I was called, I went to the counter. "Do you have an account with our bank?" "No," I replied. "If you do, there will be a 550 yen fee." No one said anything about that. When I was leaving, I asked the concierge, "Why didn't you tell me about the fee? Then he pointed to the entry desk and said, "It's written there." What's the point of a concierge? This is the worst bank! I'm shocked they're concierges! 🤢🤬🤬🤬"
