I called customer service to get the appointment for open a bank account in Nordea. I met Erika B, she's really nice and so helpful. It's only take 15 minutes. I am an International student in Linne.
At first, I was worried that opening a bank account at Nordea as an international student would be difficult because I had read stories and reviews from others sharing their experiences. However, my experience turned out to be very pleasant. The customer service representative was very nice and always provided excellent support whenever we interacted with him. The process was also faster, as there were fewer customers compared to Swedbank. Overall, I’m very happy with the service.
I'm a student in Sweden, studying and working for Linnaeus University. I had utterly unpleasant experience with this and other Swedish banks. People of different ethnic backgrounds and different nationalities get different treatment in Nordea. If they don't like your face, skin color or passport, they may ask you a lot of personal questions. If they don't like the answers, they are likely to reject you. In my case, they asked about my parents occupation, requested their work contracts, inquired how much cash I plan to use, how much money I plan to send and receive abroad and rejected me when I refused to answer questions about my parents. My other foreign friends got rejected in this bank as well. However, questions they ask are arbitrary: my friends got asked a different set of questions. My Swedish friends didn't get asked any of these questions and haven't had any problems with opening a bank account in general. When I asked about specific rules that allow them to reject me based
Bank in sweden. Not customers friendly bank.
