I love Discovery Bank, but this is a bad review due to the trouble I am having with Easy Equities, which is available via Discovery and endorsed. You can ONLY contact Easy Equities via a ticket system that only responds in 7 days plus. I am still waiting for them to allocate a deposit to my account that was made over 2 weeks ago. They seem like a scam, and I am getting really nervous about my investments. Discovery PLEASE HELP.
Very disappointing experience with Discovery Bank I am currently experiencing what appears to be possible fraud on my account — a serious and time-sensitive matter. I have been waiting for more than 30 minutes to speak to a consultant, only to repeatedly hear “we will be with you shortly.” This level of delay is extremely concerning, especially when it involves suspected fraud where immediate assistance is critical. I did not expect this from Discovery Bank, as their service standards are usually much higher. At this point, the lack of response and urgency is unacceptable and does not instil confidence in their ability to protect clients in real-time situations.
Fikile Thwala who works in sales was such an exceptional lady . She helped me through the process of starting my journey at discovery. She is the sweetest kindest sales rep I've ever spoke to . This kind of customer service deserves the blessing of God and an increase haha . She was kind, patient and understood my best interest. I am so excited to start this journey with Discovery. Zero protection against fraud and phishing I am incredibly disappointed with Discovery Bank’s failure to protect its customers. I fell victim to a phishing URL and, realising the mistake immediately, contacted the Fraud department to stop the payment. Despite my prompt action, Discovery was unable to resolve the dispute or intercept the funds, allowing hackers to get away with over R5,000. Their lack of safeguards and incompetence in handling urgent fraud cases is deeply concerning.
I’ve been banking with Disco for quite sometime, over the years I’ve added some products to my profile; medical aid, vitality etc. I’ve recent encounter a problem that had my card suspended due to whatever reason. No one can seemingly explain WHY my card was blocked, I’ve spent so much time going to to ‘try again’ at ATMs after I was assured about an exemption lift. I’ve called the Fraud team, was transferred to services (they’re just as useless), transferred AGAIN to customer service???? Please make this make sense to a person who’s had to do immediate transfers to other Banks in order to access funds? It’s end of the month, surely you can understand my frustration? Also, might I add, that the calls processed through the app, get cut off whilst talking to the person on the other line but no one bothers to revert back or even give feedback from all these departments I’ve mentioned. Will I be reimbursed for all the immediate transactions done? I’d really like to know.
