ATM stole my card. Do not use (especially after closing hours) unless you can tap your card.

Although I am a Bank of Africa customer, I must say this branch is not always well managed. On previous trips to Essaouira, I always got Moroccan Dirhams from the outside ATM machine. However, during Ramadan 2025, several times, people ahead of me said the machine either had no money or was inoperable. I walked inside and asked a woman behind a desk when the machine would have cash, and she told me to return in an hour or two. After eating, I returned, and the ATM machine still did not work. I took a petit taxi to another Bank of Africa (BMCE Group) branch on Boulevard Moulay Ismail, and its ATM worked. I was told that there was another Bank of Africa ATM inside the Carrefour supermarket in Essaouira. I read some people's reviews, and some claimed this branch did not give them their money, and their banks deducted the money from their foreign accounts. This happened to me one time in Tangier, so I am always cautious, making sure that anyone in line ahead of me gets cash from the ATM

Very, very long waiting time. Only 1 person by the teller. Friendly security guard.
