ASB Whanganui Branch 113 Victoria Avenue Whanganui

While one of the staff members I encountered this morning was very helpful, the sole teller decided to have a very lengthy chat with a couple at her counter. She laughed and gestured to the growing line of customers saying that other staff could take care of us, when we had been directed to her in the first place. Non-existent service from this teller, who obviously could care less about the customers or their experience. Very poor effort.

They're always kind & helpful & somehow work out a way to accommodate my wishes (sometimes it's wishful thinking). I've just rearranged my finances & Niki did it all with care. It would take a lot for me to change banks.

Very bad experience. Staff was very condescending regarding depositing cash into an account. Lady told me I could deposit my coins Into a machine and deposit the receipt with the notes at the counter (which I already know it just takes longer) I told Them I have a fair bit of coins and cash and she still told me to go the machine... lady at the counter was very nice but still got my total deposit wrong after giving her instructions and telling her I already told her (I just agreed with her in the end so I didn’t make a scene). Some ASBs in New Zealand are either really good or really lazy..I would have understood her asking me to use the deposit ATM if it was busy but it was not and it kinda reflected to me that there was some laziness in the mix (which I get a lot depositing around New Zealand working for a charity) but what are you gonna do. I’d rather use a deposit ATM to stop these bad customer service experiences but it takes to long with the amount that has to be deposited.

If I could give half a star I would. I love ASB, have banked with them forever but this branch really lets them down. Laziness and bad customer service are rampant and just trying to communicate with them is like pulling teeth, painful and difficult. Improve.

We could not be happier! Niki was exceptional and went above and beyond to make sure everything was as we desired! Would give more stars if I could!
