Shout out to Bronagh for being so friendly and helpful. My partner and I had lots of accounts to set up and she was awesome - getting everything set up with a smile, on what would have been a busy day for her. Thanks so much Bronagh!
Good banking system. Staff easy to help you , nice rate
If I could, I would give them zero stars. This is truly the worst bank in New Zealand and the staff in Palmerston North in particular are not only rude and nasty, but completely incompetent. What's the point of having a branch in Palmerston North if you can't even do anything to help your customers? I honestly feel like Leah and her staff get a perverse sense of joy out of being the most unhelpful they can possible be. After numerous frustratingly useless interactions with this bank I have decided to take my money elsewhere and I would suggest that you do the same.
Staff always helpful, take time needed to meet the needs of those they are serving. Staffing numbers most days I come in to do my banking seem under numbers required as there can be quite a wait to be served. As another reviewer noted that considering the profits banks are making increased staffing levels should be doable.
ASB, like all the other banks in New Zealand, are making a concerted effort to move away from branches. The staff at this branch bear the brunt of head offices business model, ie: as little staff as possible to return the highest profit at the expense of customer service. It is not often I have to go into the branch, but when I do it is because ASB's preferred method of customer banking, namely via the internet, has failed abysmally. The staff at the Palmy Nth Plaza are always as helpful as they could be. The simple fact is, banks just don't need their customers money anymore. They are not even interested in offering decent returns on deposits. Sadly the days of truly personalised sevice are long gone. But to blame the staff that are customer facing is unfair.
