Absa Idirect decided to cancel our policy without informing us. We only find out when we wanted to put a claim. They lied and said they sent us an email to inform us that they are cancelling the policy. Funny they were still deducting premiums. After us enquiring about this they then rushed to refund us all the premiums they were taking after that “cancellation” date that we were not even informed about. Very bad service. Last time we spoke to them we wanted the recording of the claim we called in to report and they said we did not call. They did not provide the recording as they always pride themselves and bragging about all calls are recorded for quality purposes. If you are insured with this company. I am sorry on your behalf.

I sent an email requesting that they review my insurance for my car. I got a computer generated mail back say that they have passed it on to a consultant. I still have heard nothing back from them. The service and response time is appalling.

Few days ago wrote email cancel my insurance car with them after multitude time calling them without any success today i call again and assisted by lady Maria on cancelation department what an interrogation tossing me up and down worse not even poor service. If the email for customer service then i am detected how to use or what to write not for cancel. The kind of service that i got from Maria ,she even forgot i am client and they need my money to get paid

There is an employee in ABSA that deserves a special mention and bonus. His name is Russell Edwards. After you people stuffed me around yesterday and I went from pillar to post for more than an hour, to fix your mistake on my accounts, he sorted me out in 5 minutes, after I complained on HelloPeter. Russell saved your bank from loosing several accounts that has been with ABSA for more than 20 years, including investment accounts, bond, credit card and cheque accounts.

No zero star rating available. I have been trying to contact Idirect since 7 Feb to cancel my insurance. Customer care....cancellation dept never answer calls. Contacted for a new quote.. and call was answered within 1 minute. I did not accept the quote and requested cancellation of my policy as I obtained a better quote from another company. Policy never cancelled. 2 x premiums taken via debit order. I have been a loal ABSA client all my life. Never banked anywhere else, but maybe should consider changing. Other banking services are good. Even visited the branch to cancel Idirect, but insurance are not dealt with by branches. Only option is contacting (the pathetic) customer care services. As a pensioner I can really not afford paying for insurance that has been cancelled. Absolutely would not recommend Idirect to anyone.
