Vanessa, the teller, was very rude to the couple in front of me, and she behaved the same way to my mum. My mum is elderly and needed assistance, but the teller was yelling at her and speaking to her abusively. My mum was scared and very frustrated. The sign on the wall says, “We respect you. Please do the same.” Clearly, this standard isn’t being followed. We strongly hope she receives proper training on how to treat people with basic respect—especially old people.

I went to the NAB branch in Sunshine to complete a simple identity verification for a credit card application—something I was explicitly told had to be done in person. This is the only branch anywhere remotely close to me, so I made the trip expecting it to be a quick process. Instead, I walked into chaos. There were 15 people already in the queue, with only one teller working. After 20 minutes of standing there, the line hadn’t moved at all. I noticed another staff member sitting in one of the glass cubicles with a customer, so I asked—politely—if I really had to wait in that same queue just to verify my ID. Her response? A blunt, unhelpful “yes.” By this point, 11 more people had lined up behind me, and still, nothing was moving.
