BMO Bank of Montreal 11630 87 Avenue Northwest South Central Edmonton

I'd been dreading going into the bank, but I finally dropped by during my late lunch break today to make deposits with multiple currencies. Jennifer was super efficient and patient with all my transactions, even though she had to keep helping the other teller (trainee?); it was just the two of them. She was very helpful, offering extra info like where I could go to exchange the currencies that I couldn't deposit, tips on how to not mix up my BMO Mastercard with my new BMO debit card (they look so similar!), etc. I later found out that she didn't have much time left before the end of her shift, so I was amazed that she was so thorough with her service, including letting me know that I'm pre-approved for a new credit card if I wanted one :O I hope that she was able to leave on time! Seriously... what's the point of having an atm?!!! ... and if you are not from here.... just wow. All that needs to be done is to have a card scanner to open the doors for "valued" members. Driving around to find a branch where your money can be accessed via atm... ridiculous and extremely frustrating!!!! ... and don't even suggest online because there are transactions that can't be accessed "online" ... and I worked with BMO for a decade!

I’ve had consistently bad experiences at this BMO branch, particularly with the teller, Jennifer. After my first negative encounter, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, but today’s interaction confirmed her unprofessional attitude is not an isolated incident. There was a line of five people, and despite the wait, Jennifer was rude and impatient with each customer, often raising her voice and speaking condescendingly. Terrible customer service at this branch. I will be cancelling my BMo account as they are absolutely ridiculous and unhelpful.

If you’re an international student coming to study at university, I really wouldn’t recommend talking to certain tellers at this bank. I just have to share what happened to me. One of the tellers here pretended not to understand my English, and on top of that, she was really impatient with me. How do I know she was pretending? Because just a few days ago, I had the exact same conversation, in English, with a different teller at the same bank, and they understood me perfectly. It’s almost laughable that the same words stopped working in just a few days. What made it even worse was that she was all smiles and friendly with the guy ahead of me, chatting away.
