We had a very disappointing experience at this particular branch of Sohar International Bank. Despite hearing a lot of good things about their services, our experience was far from satisfactory. I had applied to open a corporate account, and even after more than two months, the process is still incomplete. I had to visit the branch over 8–9 times, only to later discover that the staff member handling my application had been transferred and the documents were not properly handed over to the next representative. This branch is relatively small with minimal customer traffic, yet the waiting time and lack of coordination are unacceptable. Unfortunately, due to this poor experience, I’ve decided not to proceed with opening my account here.

If wasting more than an hour of your life is your idea of good service, then Sohar Bank is perfect for you. Endless waiting, poor management, and staff who don’t seem to care at all. No communication, no urgency, no professionalism. A bank should respect its customers’ time — clearly, this one does not.

I would like to acknowledge the outstanding service support rendered by Branch Manager Mr. Yasin Al Balushi over the past three weeks, during which I had a couple of service support requirements. His patience, attentive nature and systematic approach in addressing customer concerns reflect his professionalism and dedication. Excellent Service at Sohar International Bank – MBD Branch I had a truly outstanding experience with the team at Sohar International Bank, MBD Branch. A special appreciation goes to Mr. Yasin Al Balushi, the Branch Manager, whose professionalism, support, and calm approach made a big difference. He is extremely polite, knowledgeable, and always willing to assist with a smile. The entire team at the branch is equally impressive — very supportive, efficient, and dedicated to providing excellent customer service. I highly recommend the MBD Branch for anyone looking for a smooth and pleasant banking experience.

The security person is very rude and he never lets us to get our tickets by providing our own mobile number. When i typed my mobile number in the screen,he came and cleared it and typed his number and gave a ticket. I understand he can help people who doesnt know to use the machine but in case where we know how it is,a ticket that needs to be raised in our number ,he gives a random number and gives us a ticket. The way of behaviour is also rude. This is also the 3rd time he doing the same thing and on questioning this,he said that he is incharge of the machine. If that is the case , he should be polite enough to ask us for the number. Mainly the attitude is not acceptable and is very rude.
