Why Regions Bank has the routing numbers it does
Regions is a deep-South bank built from the old First Alabama Bancshares and the 2006 AmSouth merger, concentrated in Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida and Georgia. Its Federal Reserve records are correspondingly few and tightly clustered, which makes it one of the simpler large banks to get right — but it also means a "Regions routing number" result for a state Regions does not operate in is almost certainly wrong.
