The worst experience I’ve ever had- every single person I spoke to was useless. Colleen promised to assist me and hand my case over to someone els, she proceeded to go on leave and left my case to no one. I came into the bank twice (took off work to do so) and was told that there was nothing that could be done until Colleen is back (which would take two weeks and I needed my information urgently for visa purposes).

Took my 80 year old dad to get info on his bank accounts. Absolute pathetic service. Bank assistant refused to assist us in afrikaans even though we requested this at receiption. They had an attitude and even refused to assist with basic service of printing statements. Busy closing the accounts and going to another bank.

The customer services at ABSA Bank Cape Gate is pathetic. The bank is not busy, nearly empty, with only 2 staff members out of 5 cubicles to assist customers. Longer than an hour in an empty bank - to no avail. I addressed the delay with the Priority Banker, Gavin Rosseau. I voiced my concern with the go slow after I went to look for the Manager. She was on leave. Thank you sir for assisting, Mr Rosseau.

Disappointed but not surprised. I visited an ABSA for the first time only because I forgot my Woolies credit card PIN. Unfortunately, they lived up to their reviews— a large branch but severely understaffed. I’ve been waiting for over an hour, with only two staff members trying to handle a long queue. This experience has convinced me that ABSA will never be my bank of choice. You need to do better, ABSA—hire more staff to properly serve your customers.
