I came to Bankinter fleeing a large bank due to its unethical practices. Ironically, after three years, Bankinter has ended up behaving the same way. They persistently offered me a line of credit I didn't need. I finally accepted it "as a favor." After barely using it in three years, they now demand a personal guarantee to keep it open. When I explained that I wasn't going to guarantee something I neither wanted nor needed, the bank's response was, "If I don't believe in my company, how can the bank?" We're talking about a company with 13 years of experience and sustained growth exceeding 20% annually. Furthermore, when we joined, they told us that remittances were expensive "for the time being," but that they would review the terms and consolidation periods. Nothing was ever reviewed. I've already switched banks. As a one-off transaction, it was fine, but Bankinter isn't a bank for a long-term relationship.

I haven't been able to access my money since July 28th. They've been saying they'll call me back ever since. Today is August 18th and they're still verifying. I want to warn you that this is by far the worst bank I've ever been.

The worst banking experience of our lives, and we've been through a few banks...

Well, the teller served me very well, even though I'm not a customer. At three other banks, I had to do everything at the teller or during very limited hours, two days a week, two hours a day, first thing in the morning. I welcome the personal customer service, much better than the machines.

I'm giving it one because I can't do anything less. My parents are elderly and don't know how to do things online well. This week they had to make a transfer, and when they went there to do it, they charged them a €45 fee!!!!! What a rip-off! Don't banks understand that older people don't know how to do many things online? And just for them to press a button in the branch, without moving or even breaking a sweat, they charge them that fee... you should be ashamed of yourself... I don't recommend this bank at all, much less this branch. I know there are others that do care about their customers, especially the elderly... Disgraceful...
