Absa | Branch | Randburg Shop L65 Ferndale on Republic Republic Road

After 53 years of being a customer, this branch took less than 6 months to make me leave ABSA and find another financial institution. I was told as a pensioner, I wouldn't pay any fees on my account. I wasn't paying any fees on my current account at the time. From that moment onwards, I was charged exorbitant fees on every transaction. I was told thatbthe fees woukd be reversed at the end of every month - this didn't happen. Jojo never answered my emails. I waited 1.5 hours to see the branch manager - I was told that she was in a meeting. I wonder what's so important that you don't want to see a long standing customer. I made an appointment to see her. I arrived at the branch on time and was told that the scheduled meeting was cancelled. The lies I was told trying to get this error rectified, defies belief. ABSA, this branch is pathetic!

Worst bank in the country. When you get there, you have to search for someone to help you. I arrived at 14:50, waited for 30 minutes because only one person can help with a blocked card. I left the branch to make a purchase and verify the pin, didn't work, came back at 15:33 and they wouldn't let me in or assist me. Truly the worst excuse for customer service. And why do they close at 15:30 in the first place, no interest in helping customers.

To be quite honest I tried opening an account with this branch and all I’ve received is zero interest and on top of that when I phone in NO ONE ANSWERS!!!!I have been on the line for 30 minutes straight!!!!! WHY HAVE A NUMBER PUT ONLINE IF YOU WONT ANSWER THE PHONE! It’s so disappointing I wanted to be assisted by Daniel and I didn’t mind anyone else assisting me so ma’am Ingrid assisted me. I even received my card only for it to be put on hold before I even used it. I went to the Northgate branch and when they tried to contact her in regards to why it was on hold and how they could assist we without me going all the way to Randburg she answered once and upon them trying to help me she hung up and refused to answer again. I don’t even want to fix the issue anymore it’s such a waste of time and transport money. Disappointment does not even explain what I feel.

Slow service, not enough consultants on the floor even when there are long queues. A one hour interaction wasn’t noted at all on my profile so I essentially wasted my time and money going there. Awful

Great service from JoJo at Ferndale on Republic. (Im not so sure about Absa in general :-(...but great service from JoJo...Absa should be thankful that they have somebody like this!)
