It’s true shame, these reviews are not lying, the service is the worst. The office is so big yet so empty! There is barely staff, and you figured things out as you go. I know at FNB, an FNB staff member will walk straight to you and ask how can they assist without you trying to lift a finger. Here, you wait 20 minutes to get assisted and depending on your problem/issue it can take from 10 minutes to 40 minutes. Yesterday I went there and the consultant referred me to the line because she knew they could assist me best. I was on the call for about 40 minutes - most of it was me waiting. I was told that my issue has been forwarded to customer support and that they will call me back with an update. Tell me why I haven’t received any form of an update?? The issue is such an inconvenience and I am absolutely clueless about what is going on with my account.

Sitting here on 24 January 2026, still waiting to be assisted. I needed to speak to a consultant, however only one was on duty while a queue continued to grow. When the bank closed, other consultants remained seated at their desks but did not offer to assist or help clear the queue. At the time, there were two consultants at their desks, one department with a queue, and only one person servicing that department. Unfortunately, the lack of initiative resulted in long waiting times and a very disappointing experience. Overall, the service was below expectations.

Very poor service, unhelpful staff, and no one present to assist. I spoke to two people who both could not help me with what I needed assistance with. I then had to wait for a consultant, and there were none present (all on lunch break). Eventually when one consultant came back, I had to wait over an hour to see him, after which he told me that the problem can only be fixed at a later date. I could have been told that an hour ago instead of waiting so long. This is also every time that I go to this ABSA branch that there is no one to assist and you have to wait cluelessly, not knowing how long you will be there for. The work ethic is pathetic and there is no willingness from the staff to assist.

Only one teller available with a minimum of 20min per customer. Needless to say don't come here if you have appointments elsewhere. It's like sitting at a day hospital with a queue. Branch manager nowhere to be seen to enquire why only 1 teller is available.

I came to replace a card showing wear and tear with the plastic peeling. One of the consultants quickly helped me and she was very friendly!
