Appalled and frustrated from their terrible service. Opened an account for my son and got sent home without an account number a I was told to wait for his card to ve delivered and deposit money in the account, it was a little strange that I needed to wait to deposit money but things have changed so much with digitization, I assumed the card will arrive with the account listed somewhere, or else why wait to make a deposit? Little did I know it will take another 3-4 weeks for the card to be delivered only after I made a lot of noise about it over the phone, lo and behold, no account number!!! How exactly should I deposit into this account? I find this service pathetic to be honest, it's as if I didn't have any purpose fod Opening the account, though I woke up bored and decided to go to the back to open an account. Absa Eastrand Mall, what is the point in opening the account if you will not be provided with the account number? Do you think I opening this account out of boredom

I had many horrible experience with Absa in general, but the most shocking experience happened in Eastland branch. Unfriendly looking ppl with a exhausted face with poorest attendance anyone can think of, even had my investment account address changed without myself doing it so nor giving permission to someone else to do it so, legally speaking that should not happen anyways. I closed my 2 accounts at East Rand branch had with them and moved to another bank. Well, so I did think they did close it as I requested but they didn't and just found out I'm owing to absa +- R1500 for banking fees for the past years. So once again, Absa is causing me stress abd loss for incompetent staff. Also regarding bank home insurance overall, I had an accessor showing me a very neat, clean and new tennis ball as excuse for the blockage in the gutter and the reason why Absa WOULD NOT cover the damage in my ceiling after a massive strong wind hail storm 2+- years ago. Recently, I had a geyser burst.

ABSA Banking Services Very poor customer service and unacceptable waiting times. Despite customers waiting, only one staff member was assisting customers at a service station that should have had three people, with two reportedly on lunch at the same time. This pattern was repeated across the branch: multiple service stations available, yet only one person working at each, and at a very slow pace. This is a large branch (approximately 900 square meters) with around 21 service stations, yet the vast majority were empty and unattended. So how many employee’s are slacking off somewhere while being paid a comfortable salary? As a paying client, it is extremely frustrating to see banking fees being wasted on excessive space and payroll, while customers are left waiting for up to two hours to be helped. The overall impression is poor planning, inefficient staffing, and a complete disregard for customers’ time. To make matters worse, the attitude of the staff who were assisting felt slow

Worst service ever... waiting in queue after they told my they will issue an new card... after waiting more than an hour without service I was told card can not be issued immediately.... wanted to give Absa another chance.... but now u can keep your card and your shifty service.... you will need to get with it.. Capitec and FnB give much better service and offer much better products... old Fashioned Bank Galore !!!! I will spread the word

I just want to thank Phindile Mdluli @ Absa East Rand Mall for her wonderful, assistance yesterday 17/12/2025 and today 18/12/2025. The service I received from her was excellent, fast and professional. Thank you Phindile Mdluli for your friendly smile and help you are a star. The Branch is a pleasure to visit.
