Absa | Branch | Mall of Africa Shop 1043 Mall of Africa Magwa Crescent Midrand

Opened an account 2 weeks ago - branch didn’t have any cards to issue a plain card (ie: not embossed). Consultant then proceeded to order the embossed card as we’d have to go collect a regular card anyway. TWO WEEKS and still no card - no sms - no order. Absolutely shocking service from this branch and ABSA as a whole. Sis.

Went to Roana Thizwikoni at customer service who seemed like she didn't want to be there, not sure why people like these have jobs when there are many more wishing to be in their position. To whom it may concern, I would greatly appreciate if this is forwarded to senior management at ABSA. I am a client of ABSA Sandton visited the Mall of Africa branch on Monday November 24th and would like to report an underwhelming experience with one of your employees, Roana Thizwikoni - whom i anticipate after reading this you would agree she does not deserve to be employed representing a company such as yours. Upon entering she was the only one at "customer service" - as I approached she didn't seem to be bothered to at least acknowledge with a greeting until I asked her how she was. I had come in for assistance changing my number on acct. and set up my Absa app. Roana had no sense of helpfulness nor looked as if she was an employee who wanted to be there - disgusting attitude and demeanor with

I went in with a query about a product Absa offers, and had the pleasure of meeting Vasintha. She's the most knowledgeable and kindest consultant I've met within Absa. Vasintha helped me with my query, and went beyond that. I truly was blessed to meet her and so pleased I had someone who made my visit enjoyable. I'll be supporting this branch from now on.

UPDATE: Clients sitting without staff at desks. Can’t rate below one star! Queues move at a snail’s pace expect to wait between 40-70 minutes. After waiting where the bank staff told me to sit for more than an hour one of the consultants told me to join a different queue. It boggles the mind that this branch is in a mall with less than average customer service. 0/5 would not recommend.

I was assisted by Phumla Tembe after waiting for about two hours in the queue. She was such a patient and phenomenal lady, going above and beyond in her work. She executed all services with professionalism and warmth. Phumla went the extra mile by resolving my credit card issues, even making calls on my behalf. She truly embodies excellence in customer service. Phumla, keep up the great work, never lower the bar! You are exceptional, possessing everything a client needs: a warm smile, engaging interaction, and the ability to advise and guide with patience. May God bless you abundantly.
