I would appreciate a call from someone in regard to the complaint I’ve just lodged with AFCA about Bank of Bendigo NSW withholding release of my fathers term deposit, and the lies he and I have been told to enable this to be delayed as much as possible.
A disgraceful organisation that wrecked the heart of Bendigo and built an architectural monstrosity where once stood Victorian beauty. Then tried to atone by claiming to be the “Community Bank” after destroying a gorgeous community asset and putting their ugly office in its place. Capitalism and greed at its worst. AVOID this Bank!
Initially moved to this bank because of their local focus with community banking. Never had a problem until recently when an illegal transaction was made on one of my accounts. Since then the bank has accused me of deliberately exposing myself to illegal online activity, refused to communicate appropriately to address the situation, or to escalate the issue to someone more senior. They also went out of their way to block my banking access and to make it harder to access my information. In addition they insisted that I had given them permission to use a company mobile phone number for banking related interaction ( which is inappropriate as the number belongs to the business and not to me, as well as me not being able to guarantee that the phone would be in my possession at all times) and when asked for proof, refused to provide it as they now claimed the number was not mine so they could not disclose it to me. Just another big awful bank. Can't do the simplest thing online. Unresponsive online chat, call centre queues where walking to Bendigo would be quicker & don't request a callback or the wait for attention is even longer.
After asking specifically to have all communication via email, signing the privacy declaration that allows this and explaining my situation I only received email communication once before Bendigo Bank returned to harassing me by phone at times that I specified I was unavailable and not allowed to be near my phone due to my job, when attempting to return communication I conveniently was never able to get through and my emails were unanswered. worst service I have ever received, hardest bank to deal with, please NEVER use this terrible bank.
