I wanted to open a new account as I moved to Sweden and recieved my swedish personal number(and have an employment). the response at this branch, we have "a little delay" to open new accounts right now... The little delay is 4-5months (It's october, appointment was middle February) and this is INSANE, how are people supposed to live without bankID, without being able to get their salaries. Should Swedbank be reminded that LEGALLY they have 10day to open at least a basic account? I have opened several accounts in my life in several countries and banks, EVERY single time this process took less than 1hr (without needing an appointment as well...) As a Swiss person don't complain when online banks will take all the marketshares by offering more accessible, fast and less expensive acess to banking..
Usually I don’t usually leave reviews, especially not for a bank, but this time it’s well deserved. Back in Spain, when I tried to close an account at my old bank, it took me a month, involved endless arguments, and in the end they even kept some of my money. On Tuesday, August 26th, my partner and I went to this Swedbank branch to close two accounts, without an appointment. After a 15-minute wait, a very friendly staff member helped us. The whole process was incredibly smooth, and within another 15 minutes both accounts were closed, with no tricks or attempts to make us change our minds. Thank you so much! :)
When a system becomes totally Internet-base, then it's not surprising that their human staff at bank suffer from lack of training, confidence, and customer respect. Within 5 weeks, 3 times through bank clerks, I submitted request to have new credit card. Each time they made a cardinal mistake in preparation of request submission. Every week there are new staff at counters and no one would stay accountable for their colleagues.

Came in about a week ago for open hours as I needed to close an account. To my surprise everything went very smoothly. The manager greeted me and made sure I got into the correct line. Then the banker, Emma, was able to help me close an account and wire funds to another bank all within a couple minutes. On top of that I had scheduled a meeting with them the day after and Emma called me to confirm if I still needed it (I didn't). Honestly if I wasn't already banking with another institution I would consider switching just based on this interaction.
