Staff is OK. But Hang Seng is not interested in doing business with foreigners. Sino only club. Other skin colors need not apply.

Last week I went to open an account. I was a returning customer, but when I got there I found out that opening an account now requires an online appointment. I asked them to schedule it for today, and the guy told me to bring proof of address. I've had Hang Seng Bank's letter for several months, so they kept asking me if I was a returning customer and if the bank had my information. The guy told me not to go upstairs to get a quick printout. It was 9 am, and the fastest they could get me there was 10 am. I was immediately annoyed because I needed to go to Bank of China to ask, and they said they didn't require a three-month valid letter for account opening; they offered instant mobile account opening and immediate use. Hang Seng really needs to change. You promote environmental protection and don't send monthly letters, yet you require customers to bring a three-month valid letter to open an account. You're too lazy to even print out customer information for them. Looking at your revie

It turns out that foreigners face constant questioning when trying to open an account. It's fine if they refuse to open an account, but the attitude really doesn't need to be so rude! Information obtained over the phone can be completely disregarded in person! The on-site manager's attitude is the worst I've ever seen among all the banks in Hong Kong! I will never do business with this bank again! Standard Chartered and HSBC's service is far superior!
