It didn’t start well but ended with an good experience with DBS last Thursday (22 Jan)! Was dealing with an urgent GIRO standing instructions rejection with DBS last Thursday that came late to us in the mail. Called the hotline on the letter for clarification but unable to get the clear reason for the rejection. I was told to call the corporate hotline instead. Thankfully, Zhixiang from the corporate hotline attended my queries with care and patience. He took time to understand the situation and tried his very best to help from start to end because if it wasn’t approved, it will cause a huge inconvenience for the company. Also, a lovely follow up experience from Angie and Ron from DBS Plaza Singapura Branch where I was advised to resubmit my SI forms. Brought my girl to open her “coming of age” bank account as we couldn’t get it done online. Ms Soon Jia Li is extremely helpful and patient despite the multiple steps involved owing to our existing joint account. Glad to have made the trip and get it sorted. If there’s 1 thing I can feedback, we tried getting a virtual q at 3+pm no b4 heading down but the q system is already closed. That’s shocking as the bank will only be closed at 530pm. This isn’t very right.

I went in for a cashier order on a weekday afternoon (3pm) and waited about 30 minutes. I would have requested the cashier order online had it been a smaller amount. The lady who greeted me and gave me my queue number was very polite and friendly. She took her time explaining guests’ questions and tried to convince them to use online banking to resolve their matter, if possible. The staff who helped me with my cashier order (Mr. Ron Mira) was also very professional and friendly. He verified the account name and amount several times and always apologized when he needed to borrow my phone for the details of my Singpass. His supervisor (Ms. Ming Lee) that helped verify the details again was also very polite. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I genuinely appreciate the service I received. I rarely walk into a bank these days, as most matters can be resolved over the phone or online, and didn’t mind the trip at all.

Had to open an account for my 17 yr old who just got her nric issued today. No singpass activation yet and we live overseas. Dbs staff Julian helped us alot. With uploading info abt being overseas student as well as data entry. Super super efficient. So so grateful. Date : 12-01-2026 3.30pm
