Extremely rude bank teller. ATM only gave large bills, after politely asking the bank teller if she could make change from her own bank's ATM, she said, No, I don't know you. Many restaurants and bars won't accept large bills so now it's essentially useless.

Last week I opened an account and besides being one of the most convenient banks (the account does not have any monthly cost unlike many other banks), the attention that I received by the employee (Mrs. Antonio Mendolia) was fantastic. I have just arrived to Germany and therefore I don't speak German yet, and this was one of the only banks that offers service in English (or even Italian). That is a quite useful feature that cannot be usually found elsewhere. Also in the telephone service you can find English-speaking employees (even though the machine is in German). Taken together, I totally recommend this bank for everyone but especially for internationals/foreigners.

We felt very well taken care of by HVB regarding our property financing. Our advisor, Mr. Mendolia, took the time to answer our questions and provided us with expert advice. Highly recommended!

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you with this complaint because I have had several negative experiences with one of your employees. This employee often treats foreign customers rudely and shows little interest in helping them. He regularly makes excuses for requests and claims that they are not possible. My wife, my mother-in-law, and other acquaintances have had similar experiences. A specific example is today's incident, December 23, 2024, between 10:00 and 12:00. I wanted to request a bank statement. The employee asked me if I had online banking. I replied that I no longer have access to it, as I haven't had it for a year. Instead of helping me, he simply said, "Yes, you can view it there," and added that it wasn't his problem. In the past, I have always received my bank statements without any problems at reception, but this employee refused to help me. This isn't the first time I've had to leave the branch without a solution or assistance because of him. Another example: So

I've been with Hypo for at least 25 years (personal and business accounts) and am now generally disappointed. It's practically impossible to call a branch, as they seem to have no expertise anymore, and it appears they don't even have a phone anymore. You no longer have a personal contact person, only a hotline. Online banking is okay, but that's about it. It's a real shame; it used to be much better.
