Waited for help in Q whilst waiting elderly lady was asking everyone what they are there for. And asked if I had all my documents for FICA I said yes. She too Confirmed all correct. Told me I am in the right place. Just wait for help. My turn after half an hour waiting, lady chats opens her computer app with inputting my ID asks for copy of proof of address, then looks at her watch and says oops we don't do FICA after 2. I was gobsmacked. She sent me packing. Even though bank closes at 3h30. No one to talk to. Elderly lady nowhere to be found. Come back tomorrow she smiles . JoAnn Kotze. I visited the ABSA | Heerengracht Branch today to close an old account, and unfortunately the service I received from the teller, Faiza Bennett, was extremely disappointing. This experience once again reminded me why I moved to Investec a few years ago. There was no greeting or basic courtesy. When I handed over my identification document, Faiza immediately raised her voice, demanding an account number she had not previously requested. When I calmly asked if she was having a difficult day, the interaction deteriorated further. Instead of assisting me, she appeared to look for reasons not to help, and her attitude was unprofessional, dismissive, and unnecessarily hostile. On a positive note, the branch manager, Gillian Farmer, was professional, calm, and helpful. I appreciate the way she handled the situation and provided proper assistance. Still, as a customer, I expected respectful communication and basic professionalism from the outset. Today’s experience fell far below acceptable

Slow service. Poor service. Ridiculous ABSA branch. Not sure why when there's hardly no clients the bank staff take so long to assist anyone. Very strange branch. Everything seems slow motion, no urgency, nor the bare minimum. Staff also aren't very friendly. You greet them and they don't greet back. Just very odd. HR need a serious conversation with this group of staff. Not use to such poor bad atrocious service from an ABSA. Really weird and bizarre.

The service was terrible, and it seemed like they were in cahoots to be unhelpful to customers. Today, one lady snapped back at me, while her colleagues at the customer service area were just on their phones as I sought clarity and guidance on my request to change my address on my statement. Before that, she insinuated that her male colleague was flirting with me, even though he was simply trying to assist with my request. I wish I had read reviews before going there; it was the worst service ever. They urgently need to improve their customer service skills. Additionally, they appeared to be nicer and more helpful to people who looked like them. It's a shame that Absa employs such staff. Worst of all, I went through all of that only to find out I could easily do it on my banking app.

Very bad service from your consultant had requested a dormant account for lifting on Wednesday came at another branch just to find out nothing has been done I was told to wait for 2 days for uplifment nothing was done very very poor.
