17Feb2022: Visited for the first time to experience 1990s govt bank environment. I had to deposit cheque. I entered at 4.40 p.m. The counter lady asked me to approach an officer sitting behind the table. He told me that I should come the next day as the clearing time is over. I was baffled and shook my head in disbelief. I asked why is it late. He said the officer responsible for clearing closes counter and leaves at 4 p.m. I said I have come from DHA, more than 10 kms distance, should I come the next day? He said, yes. I said that is insane. So he told me to talk to his colleague if he can accept (as if doing a big favor). I asked him. He also said, clearing time is over at 4 p.m. I repeated, so what? He said, your cheque will be placed in 2 days post dated clearance. I said, no problem. Then I said, why did you all started by a NO? You should have said 'Yes the cheque is acceptable for clearance but the clearance date will be for day after tomorrow.' They started giving very strange reasons, which didn't make sense for refusing to accept the cheque for deposit. Must be complained. Account Title: World Linkers
