Poor Customer Service – O’Connell Bridge Branch I attended the Bank of Ireland branch at O’Connell Bridge this morning between 10:00 and 10:20 to seek assistance with opening and activating my online banking account. Regrettably, the service provided was unsatisfactory. The staff member at reception was unhelpful and displayed a lack of professionalism. Rather than providing direct assistance with activating my card and PIN, I was given brief, dismissive responses and redirected to the telephone service. As a customer, I felt that my time was not valued and that appropriate in-branch support was not offered. This experience differed significantly from a previous visit to the Bank of Ireland branch on Lower Cornwall Street (43), where my father and I received prompt, courteous, and efficient assistance. The matter was resolved within approximately ten minutes. Today being the 16th, I found the standard of customer service at the O’Connell Bridge branch to be well below expectations.

Thank you Claudia for being an excellent member of the bank of Ireland team. It was frustrating trying to help my granny set up her online banking account and having to deal with the online customer service. Claudia communited with the online team to help us set up the account. She's a gem.

Worst and stupidest banking experience. I use atm in the middle inside try to cash out 400 euro from my account yesterday. After I insert my pin and waiting for the money suddenly the atm stop working and get rebooted. when I check my balance at BOI apps (365) my balances already deducted 400 euro and then I go to CS and they said “no panicking” it’s happened sometime (how ugly and unrealizable your ATM system is). Cs ask my IBN number, phone number and full name and ask me to wait for 24 hour. It’s been 24 hours and I still don’t get my money back.

This branch specifically, but perhaps the Bank of Ireland as a whole, is very discriminating against those who lack permanent residence. They required "proof of residence from a state agency" to open an account, but they would not accept such "proof of residence" from the Department of Social Services. Go to AIB instead.

I lost my ATM card so I had to go to the O'Connell Street branch on a Friday for much-needed weekend cash. I know praising banks is not popular but the doorman was very polite and eager to help me find the relevant counter. The teller could tell I was a bit panicky and was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. I know that it was their job to do this but they acted reassuringly and I had enough cash to get me through the weekend.
