Exchanged USD for TWD. Took about 15 minutes - make sure you have your passport and address where staying (including phone number of owner if ABNB). 100TWD fee if don't have account with bank.

I am really sad to say that I have honestly had a terrible experience with Taipei Fubon Bank after being with them for 3 years. I was sent some money from South Africa and expected a call from them to confirm the amount (which I usually get 3-4 days after it has been sent) the latest transaction seemed to really just go unnoticed all together. After the money was sent on the 26th of June, I followed up on the release on the 28th. Nothing. I then contacted customer care a day later via phone call no answer after waiting 15 minutes (300元) later. I decided to try and get help online as I’ve already wasted so much money on pointless phone calls. (This really doesn’t offer any help in english and I have to go hunting for a chinese speaking coworker because using google translate takes to long). The lady that I spoke to informed me that I have to prove I am related to my sister-in-law before they release the money. “HOW” I ASKED! I have no blood relation to her, different surname as we’re

They offer one of the best exchange rates and lowest fee for US dollars. In Taiwan, each bank offers different foreign currency exchange rates and fees, it is important to know not only the rate, but also the fees each bank charges. If you are visiting Taiwan, I would highly recommend that you exchange a small amount at airport, and visit Fubon Bank for large amount. The difference can be as high as 1% of the total. Do remember to bring your passport as ID is required for citizens and foreigners alike.

The agents are all excellent, especially the gentleman and lady on the second floor. They provide excellent service and a friendly attitude, making customers feel respected. Although the products promoted by the agents have their pros and cons, at least the health tea is delicious. It is a bank without too much money-consciousness.
